motion :: the pump promotional vid
meant to post this a while ago
motion :: old fangs
take me to sundance now please. a short animation [complete with score] about a wolf who decides to confront his father who he hasn’t seen in a long time. very fantastic mr. fox -esque. love it.
for a SUPER HIGH QUALITY version.
motion :: pumzi.
this is the trailer for Pumzi, a short film about “a dystopian future 35 years after water wars have torn the world apart. east african survivors of the ecological devastation remain locked away in contained communities, but a young woman in possession of a germinating seed struggles against the governing council to bring the plant to earth’s ruined surface.” it was written and directed by wanuri kahiu, a kenyan woman who won a grant from focus films’ africa first short film program.
it is showing at sundance with the hopes of being picked up and turned into a feature film, something i would totally see. there are some aspects that remind me of wall-e, the island and thx 1138… matched with low saturation, high levels of technology, and many aspects of classic sci-fi films. it all seems great to me, after all, when’s the last time you saw an african sci-fi movie?
other :: just plain awesome

action :: sourcemap: product transparency
sourcemap is a website that aims to create transparency in the products we use everyday by tracing the source of all materials involved in its production. it is a collaborative project by which people research, discuss and investigate where our products come from. yet another fascinating way to become a more conscious consumer, as i am strong believer that you can ‘vote with your dollar’ every time you make a purchase.
check out where a typical laptop comes from or an electric tesla roadster or a simple toothbrush.
other :: japan mcdonalds
