i grew up skateboarding, but back then all the videos were pretty low quality, fast, full of terrible punk music, and obsessed with cramming the fastest skating styles in as many short clips as possible. recently, with the growing popularity of high quality cameras and slow motion technology, skate videos have developed into much more of an art form. although the sport hasn’t changed too much, the way it’s captured certainly has.

this video, shot by brett novak, in barcelona is a prime example of how the sport has slowed down a bit. the combination of gaudi architectural landmarks, slow motion and extremely technical tricks is unreal in this clip. enjoy:
