the new junior boys video for “bits & pieces” incorporates the dance style called voguing. embraced by the drag community of new york city in the 1980s, who would host ‘balls‘ in which contestants would compete in walk-offs to see who was the ‘most real’. for a great film on the subject of the ball culture, voguing, and the ‘families’ behind it, check out paris is burning. on youtube.
